Tulln BEFORE THE GATES OF VIENNA
After the winding road through the Wachau, the countryside suddenly widens and becomes more open. The Danube broadens and becomes a mighty river. To the north of the Danube, lie the sunny and elevated vineyards of the Wagram. The finest wines are grown here. The range of cultural activities is as varied as the mosaic of the landscape.
The range extends from the versatile Donaubühne Tulln venue to the Schubertiades at Schloss Atzenbrugg.
Tulln, the city on the Danube, is well known for its art and gardens; it is also an important site for cyclists and trade fairs as well as the birthplace of the famous painter Egon Schiele.
